< Turn 12
The crew enjoys a celebratory evening in the Grotto after their successful raid of Q’narr’s stash house. The party ramps up quickly but is cut short when Willow picks a fight with an obnoxious off-duty trooper. She teaches the trooper a few lessons in the fine art of pugilism, but his companions take umbrage with her teaching style. Though they don’t escalate things to a bigger fight immediately they do promise a reckoning later.
The next morning the crew gathers to plan their next step in exposing Reactive Sequence’s doings. They split up to do some ground work but when they regroup around noon Ken is nowhere to be seen. Instead they receive a message from him saying the Bloated Tide has caught up to him and he needed help.
The crew catches up to his signal at an abandoned grotto where the Tide appeared to be setting up a ritual of sorts to sacrifice Ken for some unknown purpose. The crew attempts to parley but the deepfolk see only additional sacrifices. They drive themselves into a frenzy and charge the crew fearlessly (but ultimately fruitlessly).
Afterwards the crew decided to do some shopping to gear up for getting back to the task at hand. Their heavy expenditures at the local military surplus markets attract the attention of a local tax official who pressures them into a bribe to avoid an audit of their ship and its cargo for further taxation.
