In the down time after the last mission, Shadowfang had a run-in with Skitiskit Swarmgash, a member of the Pack of Legion, who hinted the Pack was back on the hunt. The crew decided to take advantage of the Xeno Deliveries job offer they had received which would let them sneak out on a delivery truck and evade the Pack for the time being.
The crew was dropped off at a remote Xeno Deliveries distribution facility which had been overrun by a group of K’erin Colonists who were raiding the facilities for supplies and loading them on a stolen delivery rambler.
The crew got close enough to observe the K’Erin taking orders from a Precursor but they were quickly detected. The two sides exchanged shots as the K’Erin charged but the battlefield was quickly disrupted when a pair of Vent Crawlers erupted from some larger shipping containers in the midst of the K’Erin.
The Vent Crawlers started attacking whatever was closest to them and a couple of K’Erin fell quickly. With the K’Erin distracted, the crew flanked and inflicted heavy casualties, finishing them all off before either could really turn on the crew.
On the trip back to the spaceport, Jshal questioned their pilot, Hawny Jonett. Although he was rather blunt and rude, he did get enough information about frequent routes across the planet that John was able to compare to their previous finds and make a good guess where to follow up on Reactive Sequence’s dealings on the planet.
