After defeating the fungal cultists, the crew, accompanied by an upgraded Dozer, finally locate Kheeme’s hidden lab nestled in a secluded gulch where the tunnel they’re following finally surfaces.
As they arrive they spot a cargo rocket departing, but before they can react Kheeme, recognizing John, taunts him over the loudspeaker before releasing the remaining bio-engineered brood swarm brood to cover her escape.
While rampaging swarm pin most of the crew in the exit tunnel, John decides risk his prototype displacer device and manages to land a targeted teleport to the top of the control building and chases Kheeme down with is shotgun, severely wounding her. By the time he finally brings her down the crew has managed to keep the swarm away and establish a defensive perimeter, from which they are able to finish off the rogue swarm.
Unfortunately the chaos gives Kheeme an opportunity to use a small personal shuttle to escape, getting out before the crew can stop her. Without transport of their own, the crew is forced to race back to space port and the Hammer of Sisu to give chase before she gets away.
