< Turn 08
Knowing the crew was going to be heading into more dangerous sectors of space, Jshal took Shadowfang and headed out to see if they could recruit some additional muscle.
Meanwhile the rest of the crew spent their time being far more useful than their captain. Although John wasn’t able to find any lucrative jobs, he did reorganize the crew’s finances and used that to pay off the remainder of Jshal’s debt for the ship, insuring they stopped drowning in interest payments.
In addition Dozer was approached by a revolutionary who needed to purchase weapons but was unable to do so themselves due to licensing issues. Dozer gathered all of the common bulk weaponry the crew had and could easily replace and sold them for a significant profit.
After turning away a number of highly qualified candidates, Jshal finally settled on letting Thero sign on with the crew, primarily because of his “impressive” (ie for show, not effective) pistol skills and the fact that he agreed to waive any signing bonus if the group helped him deal with a gang that were trying to collect on a debt he wasn’t able to pay.
The crew agreed and caught up to Bald Boris and his gang in the back alleys of the spaceport, where they made sure they wouldn’t be bothering Theros again any time soon.
Afterwards Reya overhears Shadowfang talking about how much better Thero fared than Dozer ever did. Shadowfang considered disparaging the bot, causing Reya to pick a fight with the feral… which she not only lost but necessitated a trip to the sick bay.
